He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Rood and Inez Rood (Johnson). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Rood; his children, Brian Rood (Debbie), Pamela Rood (Jan Horsfall) and Jeffrey Rood (Caitlin); his grandson Samuel Kai Rood; and his siblings, Donna Johnson (Russell), VaLois DuBoise (Bill Young), Sharon Yaun (Dick), Lee Rood (Patti) and Quentin Rood (Mavis). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
