He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Vance and Shirley Vance; his wife Gloria Vance; and his siblings, Rennie Harper, Virginia Hill, Shirley Ann Mikes, Barbara Vance, William Vance, Gerald Vance, Jimmy Vance and Raymond Vance.

He is survived by: his children, Dana Whitley (Ricky), Deann Evans (Kenny), Duane Vance (Teresa) and Derek Vance; and his grandchildren, Ricky Whitley Jr. (Deidre), Ryan Whitley (Jasmine), Kaleia Rooks (Brandon), Kelee Moore (Alex), KJ Evans (Sydney), Duane Vance Jr., Tia Vance and Mariah Banks. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
