He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Mary Backenger (Eric Wilson), Cary Backenger, Judy Thomas (Ray), John Jones and Jeff Jones (Toni); his great-niece Anna Backenger (Michael Bultman); and his sister-in-law Loretta Maldonis.
