He was predeceased by: his parent Lucy Shinn; his sister Huberta Olive (William Sr.); his grandparents, David and Martha Shinn; and his aunts and uncles, Cora Burnson (James), Viola Bast (Delbert), Willard (Fern) and Gilbert Shinn (Shirley).
He is survived by: his wife Carol Rundell; his children, Mary Knapp (Ed) and Charles Shinn (Rosa); his granddaughter Lisa (Thomas Para); his great grandchildren, William Olive (Kristin), Marie Bishop (Rick), Gail Helle (Bruce), Ruth Chapman, Robert Olive (Barb) and Bruce Boutell (Shaila); and also, Lowell Shinn and Marilyn Jones. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He also regularly attended services at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Belmont, until Covid-19, which prevented him from attending in person.
