She was predeceased by: her parents, John Palzkill and Catherine Palzkill (Rock); her former husband Dale J. Carey; her granddaughter Samantha Nodolf-Carey (Vicki Jenson); her siblings, Patricia Stomer Bemus and Norbert Palzkill; her siblings-in-law, Jacqueline Palzkill, Myrna Palzkill, Jim Dodds, LaVerne Schmitz, Fred Oomens, Robert Stromer and Vic Bemus; and her stepsons, Randy Nihles and Terry Nihles.

She is survived by: her husband Merlyn Nihles; her children, Dennis J. Carey of Blanchardville, WI, David A. Carey (Pamela) of Belmont, WI, Joseph P. Carey (Sally) of Belmont, WI, Kevin J. Carey (Ranae) of Ionia, Kelly A. Carey of Belmont, WI, Cheryl M. Bockhop (Richard) of Platteville, WI, Steven D. Carey (Judi) of Darlington, WI, Mary Kay Chambers (Michael) of Darlington, WI, Paul M. Carey (Jodie) of Cuba City, WI and Timothy C. Carey (Jaime Nodolf) of Belmont, WI; her stepchildren, Tony Nihles of Lancaster and Christina Gilbertson (Tim) of Monroe; and her siblings, Dorothy Dodds of Wayzata, MN, Helen Schmitz of Mineral Point, WI, Catherine Oomens (Kay) of Platteville, WI and Gene Palzkill of Mineral Point, WI.. She is also survived by 26 Grandchildren, 31 Great-Grandchildren, 9 Step Grandchildren and 7 Step Great Grandchildren.
