He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Hawkinson and Alice Hawkinson (Zuberbuhler); his former wife Judy Hawkinson; his sons, Jeff Hawkinson and Mark Hawkinson; his brothers, Allen Hawkinson (Peggy) and Gary Hawkinson (Pat); and his brother-in-law Ralph Mau.

He is survived by: his former wife Judy Staley; his wife Nancy Komprood; his children, Dale Hawkinson (Barbara) of Cleveland, OH and Beth Runde (Chris) of Belmont; his grandchildren, Nikki Hawkinson (Jacob Bastian), Kaprina Root (Cory), Dylan Runde and Emery Runde; his stepchildren, Brenda Showers (Eugene) of Monroe, Greg Gille (Janis) of Apache Junction, AZ and Dean Gille (Jen) of Deerfield, WI; and his siblings, Don Hawkinson (Diane) of Gratiot, WI, Van Hawkinson (Mary) of Cameron, WI and Sandra Mau of Cuba City, WI.. He is also survived by many step-grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Eugene's name.
