She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Christen and Wilma Christen (Steiner) of Belleville; her son David of Sheboygan, WI; and her husband Willard S. Meland. She is survived by: her siblings, Luane Blaser (Herb) of Belleville, Pauline Niffenegger of Monroe and Richard Christen (Shirley) of Belleville.
Memorials may be made to the Primrose Lutheran Church where Valaria was an active member.
