He was predeceased by: his parents, Nels Quam, and Henrietta Quam, Sr. (Lemke); his siblings, Beverly Maves, Vernaline Drogsvold, Clifford, LaVerne, Willard, Charles, Nels, Jr. and Duane Quam; his parents-in-law, Kenneth and June Salisbury; and his nephew Heath Aaron Salisbury.

He is survived by: his wife Sharen Salisbury; his sons, Richard Quam (Barb) and Daniel Quam (Frances); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Peterson, Alexa Quam (Matt McLaughlin), Cassie Beyer (Brady) and Adam Quam; his great grandchild Caleb Peterson; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Quam, Lawanna Quam, Karen Anderson (Gary) and Brian Salisbury (Marie). He is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
