He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter Sanford and Sarah Sanford (Clement); his brother Porter Ray Sanford; his parents-in-law, Frederick and Eleanor Schoeffler; and his siblings-in-law, Joanne Olson, Linda Schoeffler and David Schoeffler.
He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Lisa Polk, Kym Heckman (Cliff), Stacy Blattner (Doug), Jamie Auman (Jody) and Brian Auman (Christina); his grandchildren, Jessica, Courtney, Nichole, Corey, Tyler, Josh, Zackary, Samantha, Zachary, Zoe, Nick (Dana), Jacob and Alexis; his great grandchildren, Tucker and Rylin; his siblings, Mike Sanford and Brenda Ragland (Johnny); and his sister-in-law Judi Nelsen (Randy).
