He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Schears and Margaret Schears (Pater); and his siblings, Donald, Richard, Gerald Schears and Diann Linke.
He is survived by: his wife Rose M. Zemp of Peter's Catholic Church; his children, Gregory Schears (Raquel) of Rochester, MN, Julie Schears of Madison, WI and Christine Henry (Steve) of Asheville, NC; his grandchildren, Markayle Schears (Jonathan Ye), Kodiak Schears, Kendall Schears, Kaiden Schears, Greyson Henry, Wyatt Henry and Silas Henry; his siblings, Joann Neumann (Jerry) of Waupun, Milton Schears, Will Schears and Larry Schears (Charlotte) of Waupun; and his siblings-in-law, Joanne Schears, Linda Schears, Rita Schears, Charlette Schears, Doris Sabatke, Barb Schneck, Mag Recheck, Dennis Linke, Jerry Neuman, Peter Schneck and Larry Savage. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:20 AM at the St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church-Beaver Dam (511 S Spring St, Beaver Dam, WI 53916). A Mass was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at the St. Peter Cemetery-Beaver Dam (N6791 Co Rd G, Beaver Dam, WI 53916).
