He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Hess and Irene Hess; and his siblings, Mary Ann Rogers (George), Lucille Schmidt (Herb), Paul Hess (Dorothy), Daniel Hess and Terry Hess.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Rose Hess; his daughters, Patti Rauchholz (Kevin), Jeanine Shumaker (Michael) and Nancy McCoy (Matt); his grandchildren, Ian Sprague, Connor Sprague (Bet), Paige Sprague, Nathan Shumaker, Tyler Shumaker, Lianna Shumaker, Max McCoy (Katie), Olivia Peters (Devonn) and Sam McCoy; his great grandchild Noel McCoy; his siblings, Lois Hess (Jean Mollendorf) and Beverly Watson (Pat); and his siblings-in-law, Gerri Hess, Sandy Hess and Frank Tumianiec.
