He was predeceased by: his parents, DeVern Smith and Opal Smith; his siblings, Elaine Stoikes, Marie Sutherland, Neva Bolstad and Ed Smith; his father-in-law Bud Weber; his siblings-in-law, Bill Weber, Richard Weber and Diane Weber; his grandson Jacob Meierotto; his niece Erica Schlichting; and his nephew Eldon Stoikes.
He is survived by: his wife Kate Weber-Smith; his stepsons, Kevin Meierotto (Lucy) of Bayfield, WI and Darin Meierotto (Sherri) of Superior, WI; his mother-in-law Charlotte Weber of Bayfield, WI; his siblings-in-law, Arden Weber (Bobbie Rose Basina), Beverly Weber (Rob Halvorson), Linda Weber and Tammy Weber (Clint Hauser); his niece Peg Ledman of Galatine, TN; his grandchildren, Cole, Ashley, Ava Meierotto, Eyan Hanson-Gordon (Tatum) and Tyler Dietrich; and his great grandchildren, Milani and Carmen Tiempos Martinez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield, WI, Regional Hospice in Ashland or to the Bayfield Presbyterian Church.
