He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Johnson (Engen) and Herman Emerald Johnson; his children, Lillian, Michael and Laurie; and his brothers, Lawrence "Ozzie" Johnson of Mason and George D. Johnson of Bayfield.
He is survived by: his wife Laura Johnson of Red Cliff; his children, Edward Johnson (Kyla DeWolfe) of Poplar, William Johnson of Iron River and Barbara Johnson (Michael Barningham) of Red Cliff; his siblings, Edith Olson of Rice Lake, Gloria Mattakat (Tom) of Duluth and Willard Johnson of Washburn; his grandchildren, Heather Johnson of Mellen, Erik Johnson (Catie Woonton) of Chesterfield, MI, Heidi Mott (Jacob) of Mellen, Dustin Wiebe of Superior, Chloe Wiebe of Duluth, Alyssa Avery (Jamie) of Carlton and Alayna Johnson (Lance Hepper) of Duluth; his great grandchildren, Marshall Mott and Harlan Avery; and also Richard Lund of Rapid City, SD.
