He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Johnson and Daisy Johnson (Love); his in-laws, William and Wilma Skews; his siblings, Norman (Dorothy), Chester (Darlene), Donald (Betty), Burnell "Bud", Dallas Johnson and Mary Ellen Eveland (Eldon); his brother-in-law Clifford Skaife; his children-in-law, Joey Hubbard and Tari Johnson (Thielbar); his daughters, Kay Coleman and Shelly Johnson; his grandchildren, Casey Reeve, Daniel LaSavage and Tayler Johnson; and also Michael Crotty.

He is survived by: his wife Diana Johnson; his children, Bob Johnson (Linda), Sue Hubbard (Johnson) and Dale Johnson; his siblings-in-law, Brenda Johnson, Anna Skaife, Janet Skews and Bill Skews (Faye); his grandchildren, Carey Elwood (Reeve), Robert Johnson Jr. (Jenny), Robert LaSavage (Courtney), Joshua Coleman (Shaunna), Linnea Zander (Deon), Lucas Johnson, Dillon Johnson and Amanda Hubbard; and his great grandchildren, John T, Makayla, Hailey, Adalyn, Caleb, Mike, Gabe, Tinley and Knox. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
