He was predeceased by: his parents, Ewald Gurgel and Elizabeth Gurgel (Henke); his wife Janette Rogers; his sons, Dale and Duane Gurgel; and his siblings, Fred Gurgel (Aldine), Ray Gurgel (Lucille), Hilda Schwanke (Walter), Viola Woerpel (Robert), Irene Baumgarten (Gilbert), Laura Joachim (Michael "Joe"), Dolores "Polly" Steinhorst (Henry), Donald Rogers (Lorraine), Merton Rogers (Edna), Eddie Zick (Ellen), Ned Seymour Sr. and Earl Powers.
He is survived by: his son Ron Gurgel (Brenda); his grandchildren, Jackie Gurgel, Michelle Northcutt, Betsy, Megan and Geoff Gurgel; his great grandchildren, Shelby, Haley Northcutt and Jaxon Pierce; his great great grandchild Adrian Reyes; his sister Marion "Peggy" Powers; his sister-in-law Darlene Seymour; his stepgrandchildren, Christopher and Julia Kauten; and his stepgreat-grandchild Riley Tucker. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
