Mary Friesen wrote a sympathy message

“Memories of Ken go back to the mid-1960’s when mom, Frances Schluter, first invited him to our small farm on County W, east of Baraboo. We enjoyed many nature walks with him throughout the years. Mom was quick to give Ken a call to identify a newly found plant or wildflower, or just task him come over for a visit. I was reacquainted with Ken after moving back in the early 2000’s and was thrilled to have the chance to go on nature hikes led by him in Devil’s Lake. Our sincere sympathies go to Ken’s family. He was an accomplished man and a great asset to our community. Mary (Schluter) Friesen and family”

David Weizenicker wrote a sympathy message

“I WAS SUPT. OF DEVIL'S LAKE STATE PARK WHEN KEN WAS HIRED AS PARK NATURALIST IN THE MID-1960'S. KEN HAD A GIFT OF READING THE NATURAL WORLD LIKE A BOOK AND EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATING THAT TO THE PUBLIC. HIS TALKS AND WALKS WERE VERY POPULAR. HE WAS A KEY MEMBER OF THE PARK STAFF.
