He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Fedkenheuer and Margaurite Fedkenheuer (Schellin); his former wife Mary Ryan; and his daughters, Sherry Drengson and Stacy Fedkenheuer.

He is survived by: his wife Joan of Baraboo; his daughter Jodi Garske (Michael) of Reedsburg; his stepchildren, James Garbe of Watertown, Jerry Garbe of Wisconsin and Debra Meyer (Bill Meyer) of Milwaukee; his grandchildren, Jamie, Shane, Sean, Shann, Alex, Alycia and Ashley; his brother Terry Fedkenheuer (Nancy); his nephew Jeremy Fedkenheuer (Rhonda); and his son-in-law Rick Drengson. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Jim was a member of the Lions Club, Elks Lodge, and with Joan, were members of the Aldo Leopold Foundation and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo.
