He was predeceased by: his daughter Jamie Sue Burgess; his adoptive parents, George Burgess (Elsie Burgess) and Elsie Burgess; his birth mother Olive Hintz; his in-laws, Gordon and Lillian Hengstler; and his siblings-in-law, Lois Hengstler, Howard Hengstler and Arlan Dunse.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Hengstler; his son Wayne (Jodi) of Lodi; his granddaughter Genevieve; and his sister-in-law Maurine.
