He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Merrell and Lillian Merrell (Sidla); his brothers, Thomas and John; his brother-in-law Donald Schiffer; and his father-in-law Ronald Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Vicki Carter of Patrick's Catholic Church; his son Jason (Damara); his granddaughters, Daelynn and Kyran; his siblings, Dennis (Diane), Richard, Timothy (Ruth), James (Dixie), Theresa (Donald), Joan (Brian) and De Ette (Dan); his sisters-in-law, Francis Merrell (John), Valerie Larmer and Kathy Richer (Chris); and his mother-in-law Carol Carter (Ronald). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
