He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Judie Melby; his sons, Andy Luther and Eric Luther (Pat) of Baraboo; his grandsons, Alex Luther of Baraboo, Dylan Luther of Austin, TX, Benjamin Luther (Sarah Carew) of Onalaska and Christopher Brisky (Leanna Hammes) of Lodi; his siblings, Millie Higgins of Baraboo, Caroline Schonasky of Portage, Mary Ellen Capener (Norman) of Madison and Robert Luther (JoAnn) of McFarland; his cousin Roy (Lois); his sisters-in-law, Shari Luther of Madison, Janet Alvin of Merrill, JoAnn Miller of Baraboo, Jerie Lapp and Joyce Dummer; his parents, Herman and Louisa; his parent-in-law Gen; and his siblings, Lorraine Ebsen (Lester), Alice Price (Don), Louise Uselman (Pete), Geraldine Hinrichs, Rudy Luther (Carol), Herman Luther (Brydine), Ralph Luther, Clayton Luther and Steve Luther. He was also cherished by other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to St. Joseph Church or the Sauk County Humane Society.
