He was predeceased by: his parents, David De Serre Sr. and Mary Lou Kaiser (Peterson). He is survived by: his children, Dylan and Mary De Serre; his fiancée Stephanie; his fiancée's daughters, Chloe and Alyssa; and his sister Kayla Terpstra (Kyle).

In lieu of flowers, donations to offset the funeral costs are welcomed.
