It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Eleanor Bowen (Baraboo, Wisconsin), who passed away on May 21, 2018, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Gilbert; and her daughter Susan Cossack. She is survived by: her son Francis "Butch" Gilbert Bowen, Jr of Baraboo, WI; her grandchildren, Robert Horak (Sara), Sarah Bowen (Jerry) and David Bowen (Esther); her great grandchildren, Libby Horak, Ethan Horak, Will Horak and Andrew Horak; and also Deborah Bowen (Norris) of Chicago, IL.
Her passion for social advocacy was evident throughout her life, as she taught piano lessons to those who could not afford them, then taught business skills to youth at Beethoven School, and later in her life held auctions from collected donations from neighbors and friends to benefit Smile Train.
