He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Homer Clinton Patterson and Florence Patterson (Ferris); his wife Linda Fryman; his children, Ronnie and Kristi; his grandchildren, Chasity, Tyler (Lindsay), Nathan (Hannah), Hunter and Brynna; and his great grandchildren, Owen and Oliver.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ron's honor can be sent to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
