He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sparks and Edith Sparks (Rice); his former wife Patricia Sparks (Hollingsworth); his daughters, Christina, Doris and Dianna Sparks; and his stepson-in-law James Bovee.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Sparks (Cheney); his son Earl Sparks (Tracy); and his stepdaughters, Theresa Bovee and Lisa Prentice Schultz (Todd). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
