He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Larson and Alvera Larson (Hanson); his son James Robert; his siblings, George Larson, Marion Peterson, Audley Larson and Donny Larson; and his son-in-law Dennis Timm (Denver).

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Shefland; his children, Janelle Timm, Kandis Meyer (Glenn) and Scott Larson (Barb); his grandchildren, Dustin Timm (Jenny), Shannon Klin, Shawn Timm (Erin), Allison Rykken (Alex), Amanda Leitzke (Brian) and Jacob Larson (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Macie, Kendra Timm, Kelson, Brayden Klin, Trey, Addison, Camden Timm, Lars, Anders Rykken, Lincoln, Faith, Kamali Leitzke and Jack Larson; his sisters, Evelyn Fordahl, Audrey Goossen (Jerry) and Janet Johnson (Kevin); and his nephew Gerald Larson.

Memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church.
