He was predeceased by: his parents, József Szakala and Klara Szakala (Greczula). He is survived by: his wife Erin Merline; his children, András, Lilla, Adorján and Erin; his parents-in-law, Robert and Linda Merline; his brother-in-law Sean Merline; his nephew Seth Merline; and his close friends, Zsolt Márkus and Kornélia Hidvégi. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
