He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra; his mother Margaret Cherney; his stepfathers, Eddie Birrenkott and Bob Cherney; and his siblings-in-law, Ken Wardell, Norbert Fleming, William Pechan, LaVerne Wardell, Mary Jean Wardell, Norma Fleming, Ardith Franklin and Connie Franklin.
He is survived by: his former spouse Sandy Franklin; his children, Tony Dougherty (Dana) of Lone Rock, Craig Dougherty (Dawn) of Dodgeville and Heidi Wardell of Boscobel; his grandchildren, Heather Elvord (Alex), Kayla, Maggie, Sophie Dougherty, Sarah, Emma Dougherty, Taylor Sanderfoot (Kristina), Hunter and Kohl Wardell; his great grandchild Payton Elvord; his siblings, Sandy Beeman (Terry), Rich Birrenkott (Sheri) and John Birrenkott (Kathy); and his siblings-in-law, Robert 'Bud' Franklin (Donna), Dan 'Junior' Franklin (Cindy), John Franklin (Mary), Donnie Franklin, Ronnie Franklin, Betty Pechan and Carol Wardell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
