She was predeceased by: her parents, William Janssen and Viola Janssen (Houle); her husband Lloyd Peter Smits; her children, Judy Rottier and Paul Smits; her grandson Robert Smits; and her brothers-in-law, Vernon Bruss, Roman Smits (Gen), Clarence Smits, Raymond Smits (Lorraine), Eugene Spreeman, Conrad Berken and Mel Thomson.
She is survived by: her children, Gary (Judy), Max (Colleen), Gloria VanderLogt (Mike), Glen (Julie) and Pete (Penny); her son-in-law Mike Rottier; her siblings, Dr. Willard Janssen and Betty Mae Bruss; her sister-in-law Della Spreeman; her brother Floyd Janssen; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Janssen, Norma Minten (John), Dorothy Thomson (Joe) and Verna Mae Parins (Celest). She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren and her twenty great grandchildren.
