He was predeceased by: his parents, James Olsen and Tena Olsen (Lumery); his sister Marian Dawson; and his nephew Steven Dawson. He is survived by: his sister Eleanor Smith (Carl) of Ashland; and his nieces and nephews, Dr. George Dawson (Linda) of Lino Lakes, MN, Jim Dawson (Dorene Bakkala) of Ashland, Dr. Michael Dawson (Debbie) of New Berlin, WI, Nancy Sztyndor (Ron) of Ashland, Tina Smith (Chris Vernier) of Chanhassen, MN, Jenny Eng (Tony) of Ashland and Carla Smith (George Koutzarov) of Ashland. He is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (601 3rd St W, Ashland, WI 54806). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Ashland (601 3rd St W, Ashland, WI 54806).
