He was predeceased by: his nephew Michael Hovarter; and his brother-in-law John Kalkes. He is survived by: his parents, Joan Haukaas and Harvey Haukaas; his wife Anita Haukaas (Niemi); his children, Megan (Zachary Flatley) and Benjamin (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Nicolas, Felicity, Evan and Rainey. He is also survived by his parents and siblings, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
