She was predeceased by: her father Harry Richard; her mother-in-law Shirley Hanson Bakken; and her brothers-in-law, David Bakken and Darwin Bakken. She is survived by: her mother Sandra Gabbei (Edwards); her husband Dale Bakken; her foster daughter Erica Dunn (Max); her siblings, Laurie Schaefer, Randy Gabbei and Susan Walker (Roger); her father-in-law Fredrick Bakken; her in-laws, Cherie Anderson (Dennis), Brenda Miller (Jeff), Suzanne Pieper (Dave), Tammy Jo Fischer (Jason), Tracey Sanner (Brent) and Darell Bakken; and also Abraham. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be used for an enduring Scholarship Fund.
