She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell "Hoot" and Alice Penniston, Sr. (Anderson); her husband Donald E. Nysted; her son Wayne Nysted; and her brothers, Russell Jr. "Hootie", Charles "Carlie", Roger "Mimi" and Bruce "Izzy" Penniston.
She is survived by: her children, Carla Berget (Wayne) of Argyle, Gayle Wenger (Kirk) of Argyle, DeAnn Rossing of Argyle, Tammy Dammen (Richard) of Argyle and Tom Nysted of Argyle. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
For those who prefer, a memorial fund has been established in JoAnne's name.
