He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Ronald, Joan Rundle and Norman Sanftleben; his aunts, Sally Sanftleben and Linda VanDenBergh; and also, John and Patricia Akkerman.

He is survived by: his parents, Jim Sanftleben and Debbie Sanftleben; his children, Sofia and Jesse; his friends, Justin, Dave and Aaron; his wife Dana; his sister Jamie Key (Darin); his grandchildren, Dennis, Jennifer Knuth (Mark) and Mary Persaud (Philippe); his brothers-in-law, Dan Akkerman (Robin), John Akkerman (Mary) and Patrick Akkerman (Kelly); his grandmother Ruth Sanftleben; his nephew Payton Key; and his child Dana. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
