He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Gerner and Enola Gerner (Schultz); his wife Bonnie J. Stricker; his son-in-law Chad; his siblings, Vicki and Mike; and his brother-in-law Peter.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Gerner (Jody), Jennifer Engstad (Brian) and Becky Sturdevant; his grandchildren, Toni, Max (Emma), Jacob, Lucas, Thomas, Taylor (Malcolm) and Abigail; his great grandchildren, Amaya and Amyre; his siblings, Dan Gerner (Ann), Nancy Gerner (Madison), Gayle Pierce (Allen), Debbie Ferguson (Tom) and Sally Wellnitz (Dennis); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Wilhelmi of Houston, TX and Jim Stricker (Linda).
