She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Matchey and Mary Matchey (Symicek); her husband Claraton "Smitty" Smith; her sons, Robert (Kristen) and Brian; her brother Ronald Matchey; her niece Stacy Matchey; her nephew Steve Matchey; her great-niece Alexandra Joern; her in-law Gordon Smith (Teresa); and her sisters, Mary Gregory (Lodi) and Doris Sonsalla (Daniel).
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Garofalo (James), William Smith and Benjamin Smith; her grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph Garofalo, Ashley Little (Jake Lund) and Allison Linsmeyer (Wallace); her great grandchildren, Miles, Reece and Wren Ro; and her siblings, Clarence Matchey (Darlene) and Judy Ellis (Darrell). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church. A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Calendar Arcadia Country Club (340 Golf Ln, Arcadia, WI 54612). She also volunteered at the OLPH mission/thrift store through RSVP.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or to Holy Family Parish.
