He was predeceased by: his parents, John Johann and Gretchen Johann (Merget); and his wife Lucile Hopfensperger. He is survived by: his children, Jerome Johann (Marilyn), Carol McDaniel (John), John Johann (Carla), James Johann, Nancy Nespbor, Diane Willing (David) and Sharon Lenard (Joe); his foster children, Patricia Ermis and Edmund Shukoski; his grandchildren, John (Carissa), Alexa (Joe), Tina, Andy (Kathryn), Debbie, Tammy (Mike), Renee (Martin), Alex (Samantha), Jessica (Rafe), Lauren (Ciara), Charles (Erin), Tracy, Michael (Becky) and Laura; his great grandchildren, Oliver, Jackson, Johnny, James, Zea, Logan, Diamond, Kyla (Eric), Jayden, Elizabeth, Dexter, Calvin, Chito, Emilio, Viviana, Leila and Alex (Kira); his great great grandchildren, Brayden, Noah and Salem; his brother Vernon Johann (Marlene); his siblings-in-law, Carol Johann, Marian Thibodeau, Ron Hopfensperger (Marliea) and Bill Hopfensperger; his godson Wally Schmalz; his sons, Orville Jr. and Joseph; his son-in-law Peter Nespbor; his siblings, Jeanette Kurtyka and Alden Johann; and his grandson Matthew Shukoski (Agnes Nysse). He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for St. Bernadette Catholic Church will be established.
