She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Schabow and Nathalie Schabow (Hersekorn); her husband George E. Merkl; her son Bill; her siblings, Alvin (Enid), Norman (Mary Jane), Gordon (Jean Karwick), Armin (Ila), Edwin Schabow, Evelyn Meitner (Carl), Joann Franzke (George) and Jean Sasman (Orlo); and her brother-in-law Gene Brahm.
She is survived by: her daughter Debra Ferris (Joe); her grandchildren, Jessica, Joseph (Molly), Jackson and James; her great grandchild Remy; and her sister Helen Brahm. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
