It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John G. Schmidt Jr. of Appleton, Wisconsin, who passed away on May 30, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schmidt and Clara Schmidt (Griesbach); his wife Jo Ann; his parents-in-law, George and Antoinette Reinke; his siblings, Don Schmidt, Francis Schmidt, Cyril "Charlie" Schmidt and Marion Thiel; his siblings-in-law, Don Weyenberg, Herman Schultz, Mike Bunnell, Richard Neubauer, Jerry Reinke, George Reinke, Jr., Ann Schmidt, Alice Schultz, Carol Bunnell and Pat Reinke; and his son-in-law Bill "Bud" Budzinski.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Schmidt (Patty), Lori Budzinski, Amy Vanden Oever (John) and Sosua; his grandchildren, Alex Schmidt (Tiphany), Weston, Jacob Schmidt, Johnny Vanden Oever (Timmie Merkl), Darboy, Eric Vanden Oever, Little Chute, Angela Robertson (Eric) of Bethesda, MD and Brianne Budzinski (Mason Eck); his great grandchildren, Willow Vanden Oever, Bennett Schmidt and Liana Schmidt; his siblings, Ray Schmidt, Mackville, Melv Schmidt (Mary), Bob Schmidt (Barb) and Millie Weyenberg; and his siblings-in-law, Lenny Thiel, Jim Reinke (Sue), Bob Reinke, Judy Schmidt and Jean Neubauer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
