He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Gerrits and Catherine Gerrits (Peeters); his wife Audrey Gerrits; his siblings, Grace Vander Heiden (Jack), Evelyn Gerrits, Joanne Werner, Bernice Kern (Levi), Julia Pankratz (Jerry), Florence Horn (Bud), Dorothy Kruckeberg (Don) and Marvin Gerrits; and his siblings-in-law, LaVila Gaffney (Cletus "Fish") and Russell Cotter (Cecelia "Babe").
He is survived by: his children, Lawrence Gerrits, Keith Gerrits (Shelly), Joseph Gerrits and Linda Kammer (Mike); his grandchildren, Rachel Franzen (Courtney) and Jake Gerrits (Alanna); his stepgrandchildren, Chris Kammer (Amber), Craig Kammer (S. O. Sam) and Quentin Kammer (S. O. Kristina); his great grandchildren, Fisher Franzen, Sophia Franzen, Treyson Kammer and Maverick Kammer; and his sister-in-law Mary Gerrits. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
