With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Germaine Kaphingst (Appleton, Wisconsin), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2024 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Riehl and Sophia Riehl (Lewandowski); her husband Gordon Kaphingst; her daughter Janet Kay; and her sisters, Doris DeDecker (Lloyd) and Vernice Kaphingst (Robert).

She is survived by: her children, Gary Kaphingst (Carolyn), Jean Franz (James), Kathleen Jenquine (Daniel), Sheila Vander Zanden (Duane) and Paul Kaphingst (Suzie Jackson); and her grandchildren, Amanda, Kris, David, Kenny, Brad, Tyler, Emily, Corey, Brian, Kyle, Hailee and Amy. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bethany Lutheran Church (530 W Parkway Blvd, Appleton, WI 54911). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Germaine's memory are appreciated and will be given to her favorite organizations.
