He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Cops and Theodora Cops (Gietman); his siblings, Nelly (Mart VanNuland), Mary (Peter "Bill" Havinga), Annie (Ken Schuh), Dorothy (Joseph Van Nuland), Josie (John Vincent), Father Peter Cops, Hank Cops and Eddie Cops; his brother-in-law Paul Young; his parents-in-law, Lloyd Fields and Caroline Fields (Schreiber); and his sister-in-law Joann Uitenbroek (Clifford).
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Fields; his children, Bob (Marlene), Ron (Lynn), Kathy Courtney (Tom), Don (Linda), Mary Kempen (Mike), Lori Shulfer (Kevin) and Richard (Sara); his grandchildren, Jena Schmidt (Chris), Trisha, Joe Cops, Becky Loofboro (Chris), Andy Courtney (Kimberly), Matt Kempen (Brittany), Meghan Woelfel (Micah), Zack, Tyler Shulfer, Rachel, Jacob Cops, Joshua (Jess), Lindsey Mittendorf, Greg (Gita), Jim (Kian) and Mike Standish (Erin); his great grandchildren, Harlee, Eden, Liam Schmidt, Sophia Loofboro, Leah, Everett Kempen, Woelfel (October), Kylee, Kayla, Khloe, Giavonna, Gianni, Gorgio, Genevieve, Crewe and Finley Standish; his siblings, Father Gus Cops and Margie Young; and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Cops, Joyce Cops and Ellie Vincent. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
