He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Niesen and Dorothy Niesen (Paramenter); his wife Mary Strauss; his son-in-law Eric Hockemeyer; his siblings, Joel Niesen and Susan Malmoa (Mick); and his brother-in-law Jim Walsh.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Niesen (Julie), Glenn Niesen (Debra) and Virginia Hockemeyer; his grandchildren, Dustin, Baylee, Matthew and Melissa; his sister Judith Walsh; and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Niesen, Gail Moesch, Lynda Hoffman (Doug) and Neil Strauss (Eileen). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, memorials in Gene's memory can be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
