He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ruth Gibson, Gwendolyn Gibson, Edward Gibson and Willie "Gib" Gibson Jr.. He is survived by: his wife V. Asiyah; and his children, Sanferma Gibson Sims (Rashaud) of Montgomery, Alabama, Latoya Gibson of Appleton, Wisconsin and Vernon Webster Gibson of Kansas City. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grand children.
