She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Schroeder and Lillian Schroeder (Duernberger); her spouse Palmer Brettingen; and her sisters, Audrey (Ray Ahlers), Elaine (David Simon) and Charlene Schlundt.

She is survived by: her children, Steven Brettingen (Sue) of Rhinelander, Mark Brettingen (Jackie) of Sarasota, FL, Don Brettingen (Karen) of Waconia, MN and Betsy Kommers (Bruce) of Antigo.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to a memorial established in Donna's honor in support of her favorite charities.
