He was predeceased by: his parents, Belmer Solum and Delia Solum; and his brother Duane Solum (Bill). He is survived by: his wife Dorie (Dorie); his children, Julie Shortess (Warren) and Eric Solum (Mary Beth); his granddaughters, Kayla Geib (Mike) and Karli Schroeder (Trevor); his great grandchildren, Nora, Emma, Thea Geib, Charli and Lucy Schroeder; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Steichen and Elaine Solum.
