He was predeceased by: his parents, George G. Crowell and Christina Crowell (Hargrave); his daughter Christina Crowell Chiu; and his sisters, Margaret Peck and Mary Janecek.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Kiesow; his daughter Claire Ann Hammer (Jim); his stepdaughters, Dawn Reece (Gene) and Donna Behnke (Bill); his grandchildren, Jeffrey Hammer, Heather Mader (Adam) and Eugene Reece (Makayla); his great grandchild Kash; and his son-in-law Peter B. Chiu. He is also survived by two nieces and five nephews.

In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for ThedaCare Hospice in George's name.
