He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Hoch and Olivia Hoch (Lehman); his brothers, Merlin (Darlene), Myron (Jean) and Neil (Phyllis); his brothers-in-law, David Baecker (Jim) and Delmar Gottschalk; and his daughter-in-law Ann Hoch.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his children, Debbie Ruff (Lonnie) of Buffalo City, Jerald Hoch (Suzan) of River Falls and Bryan Hoch (Diane) of Alma; his grandchildren, Becky Rademacher (Greg), Andy Hoch (Sandra), Danielle Rotering (Kevin), Katie Hoch (Jamie Hill) and Spencer Hoch (Kara); his sister Marlene Baecker of Waumandee; and his brother-in-law Ronald Gottschalk (Nola) of Bettendorf Iowa. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
