He was predeceased by: his parents, Romeo Herold and Emma Herold (Wenland); his granddaughter Shannon Seifert; and his brother Burdell Herold. He is survived by: his wife Gladys Hansen of John's Catholic Church; his children, Daniel (Delores), Nancy Seifert (Michael), Sandra Herold and Tracie Herold; his grandsons, Tony Herold (Nicole), Joseph Seifert, Mark Herold (Chelsey), Caleb Herold, Jamey Grotjahn (Heather) and Lonnie Grotjahn (Katrina); his sister Bernice Zuehlke; and his sister-in-law Donna Herold. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
