He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Rankin; his children, Chris Van Lanen (Karen), De Pere, Jamie Van Lanen, Green Bay, Bridget Johnson (Dean), Tina Schneider (Kris) and Nick Van Lanen; his grandchildren, Matthew, Alex Van Lanen, Cassie Van Lanen, Brittany Johnson, Taylor Rosinsky (Johnson), Michael and Chad Schneider; his great grandchildren, Leo and Lincoln Van Lanen; and his brother Larry Van Lanen.
