He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schmalbeck and Anne Schmalbeck (Exon); his children, Hans and Pam Hale (Rick); and his brothers, Arthur, Harold and Vernon.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Crawford of Albany; his daughters, Becki and Hanna Reed (Jim) of Pleasant Pines, SC; his grandchildren, Sara, Jacqueline and Dr. Donald Reese (Christen); and his sister-in-law Annie Schmalbeck (Vernon). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, two God sons, and many cherished friends.
The family suggests donations be made in Bucket's memory to Monroe Clinic Hospice, The window restoration project of Zwingli United Church of Christ, or Albany EMS.
